Exploring Bangkok: Bang Krachao, what you can see and do

Bang Krachao – The Little Green Heaven

From shopping centres that spread throughout the city, to sky bars and skyscrapers that reach the heavens, it is not a mistake to call Bangkok a cosmopolitan jungle. But in the middle of all this lies a lesser known real jungle known as Bang Krachao. Also known as the green lung, it is a small island tucked deep inside the sprawling city, but its environments are very different to those of the large city that surrounds it.

What You Can Do and See

A day or two in Bang Krachao is enough to explore all the activities and see all the beautiful scenes it has to offer. It is home to some of the most beautiful sceneries, parks, hiking and cycling trails, preserved floating markets, restaurants, and coffee shops. To get an immersive experience with beautiful views, one can explore Bang Krachao through cycling or even hiking on foot.. It has well-paved paths and cycling routes all over where one can enjoy the views and escape the city hubbub.

Other popular points of interest at Bang Krachao include:

  • The bang Krachao treehouse. This is a beautiful resort along the east coast and is a perfect escape from the city.
  • Bang Krachao floating market (Bang Nam Peung). This is the most popular destination in Bang Krachao. The market is quite extensive, and you can find a range of local foods and goods. It is an excellent place to pick up souvenirs.

Apart from the few mentioned places and activities, Bang Krachao has a lot more to offer. But if you are looking to get away from the city and have a breath of fresh air while cycling or walking, then it is one of the best places to visit when in Bangkok.
